Egg Harbor City police said 53-year-old Victor Martinez and 47-year-old Ramon Valentin III were arrested on Thursday, Feb. 29. Their arrests come as part of an ongoing investigation into drugs sold in the city.
Officers executed a search warrant at a home on the 100 block of London Avenue. They seized an undisclosed amount of narcotics, a gun, a 50-round magazine, and a 31-round magazine.
Martinez was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance offense, unlawful possession of a handgun, certain persons not to have weapons, distribution of controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a public building, unlawful possession of a weapon – prior conviction, two counts of possession of large capacity magazine, and conspiracy – distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
Valentin was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance offense, unlawful possession of a handgun, certain persons not to have weapons, two counts of possession of a large capacity magazine, and conspiracy – distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
Martinez and Valentin were held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
